I have to say that the Barack Obama Campaign website is probably the most well crafted campaign website among all the three of the leading candidates.
Some of the artwork, and yes I would stoop so high as to call it that, is very good. Take a look at their background image here. On an old monitor, though, some of the more intricate details in this artwork and others through out the site cannot be seen.
There are some finer points of art that they should market more, in print and TV Media (if it is visible in those specturms, meaning does the artwork actually show up, because sometimes artwork made for the internet cannot be readily printed without some loss in quality and overall understandability of the piece). For example, each “Issues” page has it’s own unique header, each “People” page has it’s own unique header, and each “States” page incorporates the Obama O logo into a letter for each state.
Some examples follow -

Unfortunatly much of this nice artwork is befuddled by the actual site. All in all, while the site may actually look nice at first glance, it surprisingly has many shortcomings, like not being able to see the background image. The site is also very complex, but I wouldn’t say that is a negative, only that it can detract some users from browsing the site thoroughly.
I plan to use the background graphic to make something Obamacanesque (woot new word), I haven’t quite pinned down what yet, maybe something with flash…
