Another Motorcycle Motorcade Escort Officer Down For The Count

Long enough title?  I tried to make it as least biasand bland as possible.  Apparently this would make it the third time in the last 18 months that an officer has died in a Presidential Secret Service Motorcade Escort.  The type that Hillary Clinton got when the third and most recent Officer was killed in a motorcade escorting her between campaign events.  The two other Officers, of the three, died while escorting Bush Jr. - one on wet roads in Honolulu and the other when the President was traveling in New Mexico.  One other died well before that, earlier in his Presidency and well beyond the 18 months mentioned before, but I do not know if this is factually accurate, mostly just based on my memory.

The real issue here is: how many Motorcycle Officers have to die before they are removed altogether from the Motorcade line up?  I’d like one expert to point to where (in this country) they have been helpful in a Motorcade.  Furthermore one could argue that they add to the austere of a Motorcade (not the least of which who advocate such a stance would be the officers who ride in them), but I would argue that, how many dead Motorcycle Motorcade Escort Officer souls does it take before it’s just not austere anymore, and simply a bad idea?
