It’s hard to feel for a guy with Prince in front of his name, but I do. When my mother was born, as she once told me, she later found out in her life that she was born around the same time as HRH Princess Diana. That coupled with the Princesses work around the world, gave my mother a greater affection toward the Royal Family.
When I was born, my mom remembered back to the birth of HRH Prince Harry and named my English name after him.
So, today when I learned that he is fighting in Afghanistan, I was somewhat surprised to have a chill go down my spine - but it wasn’t not all to unexpected. What’s amazing about the story, is the media networks of two countries (Great Britain and the US) had kept the story secret for more than 2 months. I actually asked myself if they can keep that secret for so long, what else can they keep secret?
Nevertheless, besides my conspiracy theories, it’s sad to see that his cover is blown. I hope, though, he wasn’t burned by his own country though, that would be horrible (the acting of burning somebody, in this case, means that he was outed or his career as it is known is destroyed by those he actually works for).
UPDATE: It seems that the the filth that is Drudge broke the television media embargo and reported that the Prince was in Afghanistan. If I were the British government I would do some extraordinary rendition on that, spilling the beans on something that I am sure is classified at the least… not in my town. They should at least block access to his site from the country. I mean, the British Military did say that if the media kept the secret they would allow mostly unfettered access to the British Military’s on-goings in Afghanistan.
