This stunning photography captured by the NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter’s High Resolution Imaging Experiment (HiRISE) shows a real time avalanche occurring on Mars (see the dust cloud, and motion of it, at the bottom of that layered rise).
I was simply impressed by the level of detail. I don’t know what it would take scientists to fit a little scale on their pictures, though.
The Avalanche occurred in Mar’s Polar Region and was spotted by Ingrid Daubar Spitale, a University of Arizona student.
