Admiral Fallon, Fall’n Out

It’s hard to resist quipping something with his name…

I agree with Blackfive about why Fallon resigned.  It’s seems too coincidental that his resignation comes when General Petraeus (which I believe should be pronounced Pet-r(long_a)-oos, with heavy Slavic or somewhere there about accent) is going to testify before Congress in the coming months.

It’s not because of this most recent Esquire article that he is resigning, but rather he doesn’t want Petraeus to have to answer questions regarding Fallon’s opposition to our most honored and venerable Bush Administration’s policies.  Furthermore top officers don’t just resign on a dime, most of the time their retirment has been planned out months before any official announcement is given.

But it’s hard to resist the hypothesis that anybody of non-like-minded thought within the most honorable and venerable Bush Administration is, at the very least, pushed out of the decision making process because nobody wants to hear from them. And why would that person want to continue working under a Commander in Chief that doesn’t listen to what you are telling them.  So, he may not have been fired, but he sure felt that there was no room for him in the current state of the Military. Plus he’s old.
