Elitist

So, Obama is an Elitist, because he calls small town folk ‘bitter’ people who cling to guns, religion, anti-immigrant, and anti-trade ideologies.  He probably shouldn’t of said what he did because it’s a bit discriminatory (not elitist, but more on that later).  He could of gone the equal opportunity route and called black people bitter for being discriminated against for over 100 years in America, and then being left in the dust to clean up after themselves for doing nothing wrong to begin with.  He could of called Democrats on the whole bitter because they can’t seem to win anything of value even if it were placed on a table in front of them to take.  People, bitter, no matter what peoples it describes, is not bad word.  Now fuck, that is a bad word.  But he didn’t say: those fucking rednecks who can’t get a hold of basic reason, put down their guns, stop stalking Jesus, and be happy with the immigrants who pick the food that’s on their table.

Besides the problems with his statement, let’s take a look at the attack, calling him an elitist.  Which means what exactly?  Well in this case it actually ‘means’ nothing and is simply a word that the ‘lower folk’ think is a bad word to call another politician, so Hilldop and McCainite think it seems fit to use the word.  Elitism is in fact, from the peoples encyclopedia,

“a select group of people with outstanding personal abilities, intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes.”

Now, Obama is a person with outstanding intellect but that’s really about all.  Hillary is the one with $109 million (wealth), plenty of time in Washington (experience), oh and apparently she can shoot a gun (personal ability) - but doesn’t like to talk about (shocka).  McCain has plenty of specialized training in changing his position on just about every issue that’s come across his desk and he has plenty of experience both in Washington and with Lobbyists but on the plus side he’s not that wealthy and has the personal ability to still be alive - all in all a little better then our esteemed Senator from New York.

Obama is not an elitist, but he is being discriminatory, which is,

”the discernment of qualities and recognition of the differences between things.”

Even then, Obama is, at the basis of his argument for why small town folk do what they do and act they way they act, acting in a form of discrimination called differentiating.  Now imagine if all the Presidential Candidates said, “Obama is differentiating, [he must be evil].”  Doesn’t quite work the same.
